Mental Health Struggles Don't Make You Mental

Updated: Jan 19, 2020

Mental Health has a spectrum. As someone who overcame anxiety and depression after 15 years, I know that where you fall on that spectrum can vary from day to day. It affects everyone.

What I urge you to look out for is if you find yourself at the dark end of the scale for too long. Days of sitting in a suffocating fog. Weeks of even the smallest task presenting itself as a challenge and generating the question 'What's the point?'. Years where happiness seems unobtainable and something for 'other people' to experience.

You don't need to feel that way. You don't deserve to.

Instead of screaming 'Help me!' in your head, you can whisper it softly to someone you trust. If you fear telling those you know, share it with someone you don't who is trained to assist you.

You're not alone and you're not mental.
